Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up at Cape Town International Airport and transferred to Nine Flowers Guest House. Before checking in you will receive a city briefing along with some useful insider tips. Depending on your time of arrival there will be an opportunity to take a walk through the historical Botanical Gardens, the Parliament as well as along the popular Long Street. Early evening sees you enjoying a glass of local wine in our beautiful courtyard, followed by an African dinner in a restaurant.
You will start the next day exploring the Mother City in an open double-decker bus which allows you to hop on and off as you like. This tour takes you to the attractions in and around Cape Town- including the opportunity to go up Table Mountain (Please note: The tickets for the cable car are not included in this package). The evening is at your own disposal.
On day 3 you enjoy an unforgettable day tour of the spectacular Cape Peninsula. This tour combines the scenic beauty of the coastline and the unique fauna and flora found only in this region. We proceed to the Cape Point National Park where the guide will explain the unique “Fynbos” floral kingdom to you and there is a chance to see some wildlife. You are escorted to the historic lighthouse on Danger Point and are given time to walk to the Cape of Good Hope. After lunch you visit the colony of African Penguins at Boulders Beach (optional) and if time allows you have the opportunity to explore Simonstown, a picturesque old naval village.
Another exciting trip awaits you on the Explorer Bus. You head for the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, these gardens are world famous for their beauty and diversity of the Cape flora – it displays against the breathtaking eastern slopes of Table Mountain. You can enjoy one or several walks in the gardens different ecosystems. Marvel at the diversity on the “Fynbos”, “Vlei” (wetlands) or “Forest and Veld” trails. Take an unrushed stroll through medicinal and fragrance gardens, or walk on the wilder side through Yellowwood and Stink Wood forests.
Savour the sights and sounds of Cape Town from the back of your trusty bike, with a guide behind you every pedal of the way! It’s fun, healthy and active and what’s more, it’s good for the environment. Leave the historic V&A Waterfront on your way to the bright houses of Bo-Kaap. Pass Company’s Garden on your way to St George’s Mall and cycle to the Green Point Stadium and the Eco Park. On your way back you can enjoy the sea promenade and may see some whales in the ocean.
The next day your wine tour starts at noon. The first wine tasting is at the legendary Kanonkop wine estate, famous for their Pinotage wines. A lunch (at own expense) is followed by a tasting at the fabulous, family-run Stark-Conde estate and the popular Tokara vineyards. There is an additional tasting at either Simonsig or Warwick wine estates. Stroll through South Africa’s second oldest town with its many national monuments and trendy shops. You also visit the famous “Oom Samie se Winkel” (“Uncle Samie’s Shop”). Visit the historical town made famous by the French Huguenots. Franschhoek is synonymous with great winemaking and home to some of the top restaurants in South Africa. Sundowners at Dieu Donne Restaurant with the most amazing views of the Franschhoek valley. Enjoy a scrumptious dinner (at own expense) at one of the highly rated restaurants of your choice in Franschhoek. After your meal you will be taken safely back to the guest house, hoping that you have had a wonderful experience surrounded by the beauty of the Cape Winelands.
After breakfast in the Guest House, this Sunday morning is dedicated to a Gospel tour into a Township. The churches are of great importance for the Township municipalities; accordingly, emotional services are celebrated here. Gospel plays a special role in the everyday life of the local community, and you have the opportunity to experience it yourself. The rest of the day is at your disposal.
On your final day, you have the opportunity to do some last minute shopping for souvenirs at a local craft market in Green Market Square.
