Gourmet Special

The cuisine of Cape Town is varied and of outstanding quality.

It begins with African specialities, which come from the entire continent, combined with Cape Dutch, Cape Malay, Indian and various European influences. The meat, seafood and the local wines are superb and are relatively inexpensive thus making Cape Town a gourmets paradise.

On the day of your arrival, you have a 4-course dinner in one of the of Cape Town’s best restaurants, the Aubergine. Mr Harald Bresselschmidt, the owner is a renowned chef and has earned his reputation working in many famous restaurants. The Aubergine is known for its variety of exquisite South African wines.

The following day, enjoy an unforgettable day on the ultimate Winelands experience. These wine tours have been specifically designed to ensure that wine tastings take place in the afternoon as most people do not enjoy drinking wine in the morning. The first wine tasting is at the legendary Kanonkop wine estate, famous for their Pinotage wines. A lunch (at own expense) is followed by a tasting at the fabulous, family-run Stark-Conde estate and the popular Tokara vineyards. There is an additional tasting at either Simonsig or Warwick wine estates. Stroll through South Africa’s second oldest town with its many national monuments and trendy shops. We also visit the famous “Oom Samie se Winkel” (“Uncle Samie’s Shop”). Visit the historical town made famous by the French Huguenots. Franschhoek is synonymous with great winemaking and home to some of the top restaurants in South Africa. Sundowners at Dieu Donne Restaurant with the most amazing views of the Franschhoek valley. Enjoy a scrumptious dinner (at own expense) at one of the highly rated restaurants of your choice in Franschhoek. After your meal you will be taken safely back to the guest house, hoping that you have had a wonderful experience surrounded by the beauty of the Cape Winelands.

In the afternoon of day 3, you get to enjoy the legendary “High Tea” on the terrace or in the winter garden of the Mount Nelson hotel, possibly Cape Town’s most famous hotel. Each afternoon an impressive Buffet of excellent cakes and delicious sandwiches are prepared.

On the last day, you take a city tour on an open double-decker bus. This tour gives you the opportunity to see the many attractions that the “Mother City” has to offer, including Table Mountain (Please note: The tickets for the cable car are not included in the price) – and you can hop on and off as you like.
